In October 2024, MTD rapidly deployed a temporary water infrastructure for the Gelre Hospital in Apeldoorn after E. coli contamination was detected in the local water network. This critical intervention allowed the hospital to maintain water supply for essential services safely.
Following the discovery of E. coli in the Vitens water supply, MTD swiftly provided a secure water solution for the Gelre Hospital, including:
Working within the hospital’s limited available space and meeting high daily water demands posed logistical challenges. MTD installed two large buffer bags and a full bypass system with UV filtration, sterilized piping, and pumps to maintain strict health standards. The team also coordinated with local partners to provide continuous refills, meeting the hospital’s 170 m³ daily water requirement. Additionally, rigorous testing and sterilization were performed to ensure all water met medical-grade quality.
