In preparation for scheduled maintenance, MTD installed a 2,800 m³ drinking water buffering system, allowing Farys, a Belgian water company, to carry out essential work on its main supply lines near Ghent without disrupting water pressure or service for residents.
MTD provided a temporary water solution for Farys by installing two large-scale drinking water buffers to sustain the water supply during maintenance:
Farys required a reliable temporary water infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted water supply during scheduled maintenance on a key transport pipe near Ghent. This maintenance was critical to guarantee long-term service but would otherwise interrupt the water supply to a significant portion of the area. Farys asked MTD to provide a buffering solution to sustain drinking water access for thousands of residents during the maintenance period.
The project demanded a constant and balanced supply of fresh water at the correct pressure to prevent any disruption for residents. MTD needed to strategically place buffer bags and ensure that water was efficiently and continuously replenished to maintain the flow and quality during the maintenance operation.
MTD successfully provided a seamless water solution for Farys by setting up two large-scale buffering installations across Ghent. With a network of 28 buffer bags holding a total of 5,600 m³ of drinking water, MTD guaranteed that residents had continuous access to fresh, pressurized water during the maintenance work. An automated filling system replenished the buffer bags as needed, ensuring no drop in service. Thanks to MTD’s support, Farys was able to complete the maintenance without any disruptions or inconvenience to the local population.
