The Las Vegas Strip transformed into a high-speed spectacle for the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Behind the scenes, we ensured a seamless water infrastructure across multiple key locations. From the paddock to hospitality suites, catering facilities, and VIP restrooms, our team provided essential water and wastewater services to keep the event running smoothly.

Points clés et chiffres

MTD delivered a full-scale temporary water infrastructure across four main locations, covering:

Internal plumbing for team hospitality areas, including kitchen trailers for all F1 teams.
Water and wastewater connections for modular VIP restrooms, including the full restroom supply as the main contractor.
Water management for key hospitality areas, including five VIP suites, the rooftop sky suites, and crew catering.
Internal plumbing for catering kitchens, F&B concessions, and the Red Bull Energy Station.
Engineering solutions to manage wastewater disposal at heights of up to 45 feet (15m) above ground level.
Demandes

The F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix required strict compliance with local water and wastewater regulations. MTD was tasked with securing the necessary permits for hydrant use by providing a complete water quality report and installing filtration units for each fire hydrant.

Additionally, we worked alongside the Southern Nevada Health District and Public Works to submit sewer capacity calculations, dechlorination methods, and spill response plans, ensuring approval for wastewater discharge. To meet health department regulations, MTD supplied 262 spill berms across multiple sizes for use at pumps, IBC tanks, and grease separators.

Lastly, in response to union plumber requirements, MTD established a partnership with a state-licensed plumber, reinforcing our ability to meet local compliance standards.

Défis

Last-minute requests from the city required MTD to install spill berms to meet updated compliance standards. Sourcing, delivery, and installation had to be managed under tight deadlines to ensure completion before the event.

Additionally, coordinating with our subcontractor remained a challenge, as their timely delivery was essential for MTD to finalize water and wastewater connections. While this was the second year of collaboration, requiring fewer adjustments than the previous year, ensuring smooth execution still required careful oversight.

Réalisations

MTD successfully delivered the project ahead of schedule while managing services for five key clients, including the Las Vegas Grand Prix, MPM, Eventstar, Nussli, and Do&Co.

By applying lessons learned from 2023 and maintaining close coordination with the client, MTD ensured efficient planning and execution, allowing flexibility for last-minute adjustments.
