The Evolution of the Event Business
MTD supplied for the 27th time their equipment and services for Lowlands, one of the biggest festivals in the Netherlands. The first time, in 1993, the whole equipment for the festival could be loaded in one Ford van. Today in 2019 we ship 11 x 40Ft trailers full of pipes and pumps to build the project.
In the early days we checked manually once a day the used water volume and wrote that on a piece of paper, the drinking water quality was checked once. Today we installed 11 sensors to measure water volumes and temperature, and 4 sensors to monitor the drinking water quality. That information is sent every five minutes to the cloud with 4G. All data is available real-time on the mobile phones and computers of both the customer and MTD.
Erwin van Houtert, project manager MTD: “with all received data we can design better the most efficient and sustainable water infrastructure, but more importantly we can advise the customer the optimum size of each sanitary/shower island on the camping”.
Eddie Broeders, manager R&D MTD: “The introduction of products and services in technology & sustainability will be implemented faster in the next five years then the first 27 years of Lowlands”.
MTD wants to thank MOJO for the good cooperation.
